Q: Will Exploratory Advising be available remotely?
A: Yes! Stephanie Aluko will be available for remote advising appointments, which can be scheduled using Gradesfirst. Once a student schedules an appointment, a link for videoconferencing using BlueJeans will be sent.
Q: Will drop-in exploratory advising be available?
A: No, there will be no remote drop-in Exploratory Advising. But appointments will be available M-F between 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. EST.
Q: Can students schedule multiple appointments during this time?
A: Yes. The exploration process requires time for reflection and research. Students are encouraged to schedule follow-up appointments to continue developing confidence in the academic plans.
Q: Will the Exploratory Advisor be available for emails?
A: Yes, at email@example.com.
Q: Will students receive resources that are discussed during advising appointments?
A: Yes. After each advising appointment, the Exploratory Advisor will send students an email with resources and recommendations on how to continue the exploration of majors, minors, and certificates. Students should respond to these emails with follow-up questions.
Q: Will I still be able to meet with an Academic Coach this semester?
A: Yes. Academic Coaching will be available remotely using BlueJeans app, phone, or the student’s preferred mode of contact. Students can schedule an appointment on TutorTrac, like they usually do. Students can indicate their preferred mode of contact in the notes field when they schedule an appointment. If students are currently working with an Academic Coach, we encourage them to reach out directly to their Academic Coach via e-mail with any questions or concerns.
Q: Will there still be Academic Coaching walk-in hours?
A: Students can make an appointment or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org; an Academic Coach will return the message promptly. We also encourage the Georgia Tech community to use our On Demand videos for study strategies and time management tips.
Q: How can I access the handouts available at the office?
A: All our handouts and materials are available to download online. Students can find the handouts and Coaching materials under the resource tab in our website www.success.gatech.edu.
Q: What will happen with my GT2801 or GT2100 class this semester?
A: Following Institute guidelines, classes will resume the week of March 30. Classes move online for the remainder of the semester using Canvas. Instructors will be communicating with students enrolled in those classes directly on Canvas. Students are encouraged to reach out to the instructor with any questions or concerns.
